Not only do we as individuals enjoy sex, but we as a society enjoy it and crave it as well. I know I always talk about tips and issues about sex but I thought it might be a good idea to look at the way sex has also influenced our culture. Sure there are hundreds of different ways it has affected us, but let’s look at one very specific way: advertising!
Sex in advertising is the use of sexual images or sex appeal in advertising in order to attract an audience to a particular product. Some people think it exploits the models in these ads, but some of the most popular companies and brands have made loads of money using this technique. Check out a few of these ads I thought were worth taking a second look at!
This ad is known as the “gang bang ad” & was so racy it was even banned in Italy!
Doesn’t it just look so sexy when she stuffs that burger in her mouth?– NOT!! haha
Hmmm… I wonder what they’re even advertising here, but that butt sure does look juicy!

Sex is literally everywhere we look and sometimes we don’t even notice it. Companies know how much people love sex and that’s how they sell their products to us. But hey! It works!! And even though it’s mostly the women which are portrayed to be sexy doesn’t mean the ads are geared only toward men. Women like them too. I mean…who wouldn’t want to buy some Dolce & Gabbana stuff if it’s gonna make you look like THAT girl! I’m kidding though. For the record, I believe everyone should love the skin their in 🙂
BUT sometimes companies go a little too far & it makes consumers angry. Take, for example, this French anti-smoking ad.
